It takes guts to be a Bengali!!

Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new Chairman for
Microsoft Europe. 5000 candidates assembled in a large room. One
candidate was Debdas Banerjee an Indian (Bengali ) guy.

Bill Gates thanked all the candidates for coming and asking those who
do not know JAVA program to leave. 2000 people left the room. Debdas
said to himself, 'I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I
stay. I'll give it a try'

Bill Gates asked the candidates who never had experience of managing
more than 100 people to leave. 2000 people left the room. Debdas said
to himself ' I never managed anybody by myself but I have nothing to
lose if I stay. What can happen to me?' So he stayed.

Then Bill Gates asked candidates who did not have management diplomas
to leave. 500 people left the room. Debdas said to himself, 'I left
school at 15 but what have I got to lose?' So he stayed in the room.

Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who did not speak Serbo - Croat
to leave. 498 people left the room.

Debdas said to himself, ' I do not speak one word of Serbo - Croat but
what do I have to lose?' So he stayed and found himself with one other
candidate. Everyone else had gone.

Bill Gates joined them and said 'Apparently you are the only two
candidates who speak Serbo - Croat, so I'd now like to hear you have a
conversation together in that language.'

Calmly, Debdas turned to the other candidate and said - 'Ki cholchhe
dada. Kemon achho.'

The other candidate answered - 'bhalo achhi bhai.'

Went to sleep at the traffic light

Swiss police were called out to wake up a pensioner who fell asleep behind the wheel of his car while he waited at a red light. Urs Maurer, 78, had stopped his car at traffic lights in Bottmingen but fell asleep as he waited for them to change to green. Drivers behind him, blowing their horns and banging on his window, were unable to wake him and eventually called the police who managed to open his car doors. He told officers he had just eaten a big lunch and had felt sleepy as he came to the traffic lights.

IDEAL worship ?
After immersion .. ?

The Day after ..

Would you like your Gods bulldozed like garbage ?

and treated like this ... ?

or dumped like this ?

left to rot for scavengers to feast ... ?

Lying at your feet ....Helpless .. Abandoned by worshippers !

Maimed ?
Desecrated ?
And you create a hue and cry when some statue in your city gets 'desecrated' ?
You burn down busses and call for bandhs ?

Was that statue a GOD,
OR
Is this GOD only a Statue ?
You decide.

Wake Up !
This is our GOD !
How can you help?

1.Use smaller idols (size of palm or less) made of earth or paper mache which dissolves rather than Plaster of Paris
2. Use less thermocol and other non perishable decoration. (flowers ok)
3. use immersion pools instead of natural water.
4. use idols having natural colors or water colors unlike heavy colors.

Nothing will happen to you if you don't Send this link to your friends but
Click here to send it to your friends and help desecration
But it would be great if you can do it to avoid real desecration !

Watch out before purchasing your web hosting

Are you purchasing a web hosting?

Keep your eyes open, there are good chances that you may end up with something that you had not asked for. The below items are what you need to watch out for while going for a web hosting service.

  • Good technical support 24x7. There are web hosting companies which provide email support, while there are others which offer telephonic support or support over chat. Prefer the one with whom you can speak to. I remember I had a problem once with a particular web page and when I wrote to the hosting company's support they replied the problem is in my code (which was working fine on another hosting service) all emails came back with the same answer. Finally the problem turned out that the hosting provider didnt make the directory they allocated me as a virtual directory.
  • Have a fast connection to where your target audience is. Consider the below two scenerios.
    • Super fast connection but shared hosting with a spam mail service will essentially give you less speed which translates into slow pages for your customers.
    • Super fast connection but hosted in Europe while your target audiance is in America, the target audiance will face a latency in the pages browsed.
  • Gurantee minimum 99% uptime and have scheduled maintanence (at night time for your target audiance). When your website is successful, one day that it is down can cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars.
  • You should have your own domain name and that the hosting provider should charge you for using it on their hosting. It may come as a rude shock when they ask for 12$-40$ for domain addition.
  • Subdomains should be available.
  • Unlimited emails on your domains.
  • No/ reasonable limits on database size. I remember when I purchased hosting space they mentioned MySQL and PHP. They never wrote it on the first page that they give only 5mb of sql database and PHP config was stripped down. So I ended up paying much more rather than saving a few bucks.
  • Free setup (There are many who charge nearly 100$ for setup)
  • Free search engine submission. (Note be careful esp of not submitting lots of entrypoints to your website)
